Los Angeles is the second largest city in the United States and is the largest city in California. Often called L.A., Los Angeles is also nicknamed as The City of Angles and is also dubbed The Entertainment Capital of the World. It is home to a diverse population that hails from all over the world and it is estimated that over 224 different languages are spoken and its inhabitants are often referred to as 'Angelenos'.

Hollywood is perhaps more synonymous with L.A. than anything else. The familiar HOLLYWOOD marquee tags the city's skyline, which coincidentally is one of the most featured American landmarks in movies and television shows. Los Angeles is called a 'world city' because of its contributions and importance when it comes to entertainment, fashion, business, media, culture, education and technology. The city also is the leading producer or popular entertainment in the world. These include motion picture, television, recorded music, and video games.

Tourism in Los Angeles usually centers on the Hollywood scene. The city is also known for its landmarks including the ultra-modern Walt-Disney Concert Hall, Grauman's Chinese Theatre, the Hollywood Bowl, the Griffith Observatory and the Kodak Theatre, which is the current home of the Oscars.
