London has grown from one of the most homogenous societies in the world to one of the most multicultural. Sitting on the banks of Thames, this bustling royal megalopolis is now home to various cultures that are now as incorporated into the London way of life as much as the traditional English gent's Bowler hat and tea parties were a few decades ago.

London was once used to refer to the Square Mile. Now the name has grown to encompass the greater modern metropolis, radiating from Central London to the outlying suburbs that sit next to the lower Thames Valley.

London is a lady who takes good care of herself. Despite the fact that the city is one of the most populated cities in the world, no increase in population can take away London's love for her medieval castles and acres and acres of English gardens. This is what separates London from most modern cities, which have apparently forgotten their roots in their mad dash for modernity and industrialization. London has remained refined and regal, preserving its castles and monuments with the same care one gives to the rarest of crown jewels.

London is also young, hip and vibrant. New music blasts out from Victorian pubs, and everything from style and fashion to the food is undergoing a long-overdue overhaul. Gone are the bland meals prepared by countless British moms, replaced by a new love for gourmet and international cooking. Young Londoners can sport a turban, a Mohawk or a baseball cap, and the traditional London gent with the Bowler hat will not bat an eyelash.
