You must have read many times that traveling entails a lot of planning. But what do you actually plan? How do planning and preparing for a travel works?
This may sound a little complicated but in reality, it is actually simple. To narrow it down, you simply have to answer the questions why, who, what, when and where.
- Why. By knowing the reason of your travel, you will be able to determine your goals and ways to maximize the trip. For instance, if it is for family bonding, you will be able to jot down places to go or things to do that will help you reach this goal.
- Who. This is determining the number of people who will go with you and the means of lowering costs to accommodate all while optimizing the "why".
- What. Make a list of the things to do and bring. If you concluded that you want to do camping, then you will be able to determine the things to buy and bring.
- When. This determines the availability of the why, who and what. Now that you want camping for the family, you need to determine a date and time that satisfies all those who must go.
- Where. When you identified the first four questions, your choices for the where will be narrowed. Since you planned to do camping for the family, you can search for camp sites either nearby or far off that will accommodate your number.
All these planning will also help you budget each step of the way.
